Tamanduas, also known as lesser anteaters, are the smallest species of anteater. They live solely in South America and have evolved to live in trees. Their claws, which on other anteaters are used to rip apart termite hills, are used to climb trees. They do hunt insects in tree bark, but they can also subside off of fruit and honey.
